Useful Info

Welcome to the iX Water Filter User Guide. This manual covers the installation, setup, operation, and maintenance of your iX water filter system. Adhering to these instructions ensures optimal system performance, delivering clean and clear water. Before proceeding, ensure you have the necessary tools and replacement filters.

Installation Steps

Initial Setup

Step 1: Unboxing and Preparation

1.1 Unbox the iX system and ensure all components are present.
1.2 Choose between wall mount or flat surface installation.

Step 2: Choosing the Installation Location

2.1 Select an accessible location with sufficient space near the water source.

Step 3: Wall Mount Configuration (Optional)

3.1 Mark drill hole locations on the wall using the bracket’s holes. Drill holes and insert wall anchors. Align the bracket and secure it to the wall with screws.
3.2 Hang the iX system on the bracket. Ensure the head is in the locked position.
3.3 Connect plumbing, ensuring secure and leak-free fittings.
3.4 Perform a final check for leaks and proper installation.

Step 4: Final Check

4.1 Verify all connections, mount stability, and test the unit’s functionality.

Product Setup Guide

Step 5: Engaging the Release/Flush Valve

5.1 Ensure the head is in the locked position.
5.2 Locate the Release/Flush Valve at the top of the head and engage it. Start the water flow and note the rate. Position the flush tube/outlet port to collect water (e.g., in a bucket or sink). Flush the café and steam units on bypass setting 1.
5.3 Perform an initial flush with at least 25 liters of water to remove impurities.
5.4 Check water clarity. Clear, bubble-free water indicates the product is ready.

Step 6: Filter Variable Bypass Adjustment

6.1 Twist the Variable Bypass selector to adjust the bypass settings.
6.2 Choose desired bypass settings (0-4) based on filtration needs.
6.3 Verify correct alignment before regular operation.

Step 7: Final Check

7.1 Ensure selected bypass settings are in place, the water is clear, and the unit is leak-free.

Changing the Internal Filter

Step 8: Replacing the Filter

8.1 Shut off the water supply (optional). Rotate the head counterclockwise to the center position marked “release.”
8.2 Twist the pressure relief switch on the head to release pressure from the cartridge via the flush outlet/tube.
8.3 Rotate the head to the fully unlocked position. Remove the cartridge and unlock the housing latch on the cartridge body. Rotate the top collar to open and remove the refill. Discard excess water from the housing if necessary.
8.4 Replace the refill, reengage the collar, lock the unit using the housing latch, and secure it. Refit the head by inserting it into the housing at the “unlock” position and turning it clockwise to the “locked” position. If the water supply is on, the unit will start to fill.
8.5 Engage the Release/Flush Valve to perform a flush.

Step 9: Engaging the Release/Flush Valve

9.1 Check water flow. If water is not running, open the water supply line and flush the units as before.
9.2 Perform an initial flush with at least 25 liters of water to remove impurities. Note that the café and steam units must be flushed on bypass setting 1.

For each filter we recycle, we’re planting a mangrove tree with One Tree Planted – making a difference, one filter at a time.

The mangroves are vital to tropical ecosystems and serve as nature’s coastal carbon sinks.

Correct Use

Achieving perfect and safe operation of the product is contingent upon following the installation, use, and maintenance instructions outlined in this manual. Use only filter cartridges specifically designed for your filter system.

Liability Exclusion

Installation and cartridge exchanges must be performed precisely in accordance with the instructions in this manual. iX Water shall not be held liable for any damage, including subsequent damage, arising from the incorrect installation or use of the product.

Specific Safety Information

• Water used as intake water for the iX Water filter system must be of drinking water quality. The water filter system is only suitable for cold water use within the water intake temperature range stated in the technical data.

• If there are official instructions to boil tap water, the filter system must be decommissioned. When the requirement to boil water comes to an end, the filter cartridge must be replaced and the connections cleaned.

• It is generally recommended to boil tap water for certain groups of people (e.g. people with weakened immune systems, babies). This also applies to filtered water.

• Note for people with kidney disease or dialysis patients: During the filter process, potassium levels may increase slightly. If you suffer from kidney disease and/or have to stick to a special potassium diet, we recommend you consult your doctor beforehand.

• It is recommended not to decommission the filter system for long periods. If the iX Water filter system is not used for several days, it is recommended that the filter system be flushed with the volume of water indicated in the table below.

Filter cartridge

Flushing volume after 2–3 days of stagnation

Flushing volume after 4 weeks stagnation

Small

3 litres

30 litres

Medium

6 litres

60 litres

Large

10 litres

100 litres

All new system and refill installations require 25 litres to be flushed before connection to an working application.

The filter housing must not be opened or dismantled during operation.

Technical Safety Assembly Instructions

• The appliance in which the filter is used must be free of limescale and gypsum deposits prior to installation.

• Protect the filter system from sunlight and mechanical damage. Do not assemble near sources of heat and open flames.

• A stop valve and non return valve must be installed before the filter system inlet hose.

• A Pressure-reducing valve is recommended if the Working Pressure is greater than 3.5 bar.

WORKING PRESSURE 1.5 – 6 BAR

· WATER INLET TEMPERATURE 4 – 30 °C*

· ONLY CONNECT TO A COLD FOOD-SAFE WATER SUPPLY

• When choosing the material for parts that come into contact with water after the iX Water filter system, it is important to remember that, due to the process, decarbonized water contains free carbon dioxide. For this reason, only materials that are compatible with free carbon dioxide must be use. Hoses of drinking water quality must be used .

• All parts must be installed in accordance with the country-specific guidelines on the installation of drinking water facilities.

Repair

Regularly check the filter system for leaks. Regularly check the hoses for kinks. Bent hoses must be replaced.

Troubleshooting

No water flow Cause: Water intake closed. Troubleshooting: Open the water intake at the upstream stop valve

No or low water flow despite open water intake Cause: Mains pressure too low. Troubleshooting: Check mains pressure. If the fault persists, examine the filter system and filter refill and replace if necessary. Cause: Filter head not mounted in the direction of flow. Troubleshooting: Dismantle the filter head and install it in the direction of flow.

Leak Cause: Screwed connections not fitted correctly. Troubleshooting: Inspect mains pressure. Check all screwed connections. If the fault persists, consider replacing the filter system.
